Today, Sun Microsystem announced that they have acquired MYSQL AB, the company behind MySQL. MySQL is the world’s famous open source database.
As I quote from Sun’s blog, the company interested in MySQL because it is by far the most popular platform, from Facebook, Google, banking industries and telecomunication companies have turned to MySQL.
Mean while MySQL through their blog said that MySQL users should have plenty of reasons to feel happy about this qcuisition because Sun have proven their self as the largest contributor to the Open Source world.
Congratulation to Sun and MySQL for this aquisition, I hope both of the companies can work together and spread the open source vibes through out the globe.
