System Restore is a component of Microsoft’s Windows Me, Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems that allows for the rolling back of system files, registry keys, installed programs, etc., to a previous state in the event of a failure. Here’s how to enable / disable System Restore in your Windows XP computer

  1. Right click on My Computer icon on your desktop and then choose Properties
  2. Click on the System Restore tab
  3. Give a Check mark on the “Turn off System Restore on all drives” option if you want to enable System Restore and uncheck it if you want to disable it.
  4. Don’t forget to click the OK button
